The conference will take place at the University of Freiburg, Germany.

The University of Freiburg was founded in 1457 and is one of the oldest universities in Germany. It has received multiple national awards as one of the best universities in Germany for its excellent research and teaching, and it is a creative, inspiring, and enjoyable environment for its roughly 25,000 students.

The main program of the conference will take place in the university's historical Kollegiengebäude I right in the city center. The conference will be an on site only event.

The Conference Reception

The Conference Reception will take place at the campus of the Faculty of Engineering, in the building 101.

As the area around Freiburg is known as an excellent wine-growing region, we will welcome our guests with a wine tasting. The tasting is held by the local wine institute of Freiburg.

The Conference Dinner

For the Conference Dinner we will meet in the Markthalle Freiburg, an indoor market right in the historical heart of Freiburg. In the 19th century building, which used to house a printing plant, you can try the food of some of the market stalls.

Public transport strike announced for thursday, 23rd. As an alternative you can reach the place by cab. Possible providers are: Taxi Freiburg, Taxi Hercher and Taxi Alica. A women's night cab is also available for night rides. The mentioned cab providers offer these safe cabs specifically for women.

Nearby Airports

Airport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg (EuroAirport)
The nearest airport to Freiburg and only 70 km away. Travellers from Europe might consider this airport and taking the bus shuttle that leaves at the arrival level at the French side of the airport. It goes to Basel, station "Badischer Bahnhof", where you can take the train to Freiburg Main Station.


Frankfurt Airport
Approximately 270 km from Freiburg but with an direct train connection to Freiburg Main Station in about 2 hours. The fastest and most comfortable way for international travellers.

By car

Freiburg can be easily reached from Basel, Mulhouse, Strasbourg and Karlsruhe via the motorway network. The A5 autobahn and the B3 and B31 trunk roads allow easy access to the region.
